About the Event

The Digital Building Permit Conference 2026 (DBP26) runs November 25 to 27 in Munich, organized by the Technical University of Munich (TUM) together with EUnet4DBP and OGC. It is the fourth edition of the conference series, following three previous editions, most recently in Vienna in December 2025.

Audience and Attendees

The conference has established itself as the leading global scientific forum on the digitalisation of building permitting, attracting researchers, public authorities and industry representatives from over 30 countries. It is scheduled alongside BIM World Munich 2026 (November 24 to 25), letting attendees cover both events in a single trip.

Programme Structure

The scientific programme includes peer-reviewed research paper sessions, international keynotes, thematic panels, workshops, demonstrations of research prototypes and practice talks. Contributions are organized into a research track, a poster track aimed particularly at PhD students, and a practice track for concrete applications and ongoing implementations; peer-reviewed papers are published as open-access proceedings.

Main Topics

The conference welcomes research on building permitting from interdisciplinary angles, including legal and governance frameworks, processes and workflows in permitting systems, and digital technologies such as BIM, GIS and AI.
