About the Event

VISION 2026 is the world's leading trade fair for machine vision and industrial image processing, held from 6 to 8 October 2026 at Messe Stuttgart, Germany. Organised by Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH and held biennially since its founding in 1987, VISION is the only trade fair in the world covering the complete spectrum of image processing technologies. The 2026 edition takes place for the 32nd time and is co-located with Motek, EFX, Quantum Effects, and interbad, with a single VISION ticket granting access to all co-located events. More than 400 exhibitors from 38+ countries and 6,000+ trade professionals are expected across the three days, with over 90 percent of exhibition space already booked. The event is recognised globally as the central hub for the machine vision industry, bringing together key players, specialists, system integrators, end users, and researchers from across Europe, Asia, and North America.

Audience and Attendees

VISION draws a highly qualified trade audience spanning machine vision engineers, automation specialists, robotics integrators, software developers, research institutions, OEM product managers, and industrial technology buyers from more than 65 countries. Exhibitors range from global market leaders to highly specialised niche suppliers, covering the full product and technology spectrum including cameras, sensors, optics, lighting, processors, cables, software, and complete vision systems. The European Machine Vision Association is present at the 2026 edition promoting international machine vision standards, and organises the traditional Vision Night on the evening before the show opens. A dedicated BMWK joint stand brings together young technology pioneers, the IPC 4 Vision initiative, and an Integration Zone, while Science Vision Days facilitate direct exchange between research institutions and industry. The VISION Award recognises outstanding innovation in image processing technology.

Programme Structure

The three-day programme combines the main trade exhibition with a parallel conference and lecture forum programme, theme parks, and specialist networking events. Lecture forums address the major topics of camera technology, optics and lighting, robot vision and 3D vision, software and AI, hyperspectral machine vision, machine vision standards, and new application areas. Approximately 50 company presentations and 16 start-up pitches are scheduled across the VISION Start-up World, providing a platform for emerging companies. The VDMA Technology Days, organised in collaboration with the German mechanical engineering industry association, deliver technical content on automation, connectivity, and smart manufacturing. The VISION Award presentation ceremony celebrates groundbreaking innovations, with past overall winners including Viziotix for its revolutionary barcode decoding software.
