About the Event

Oesterreichs Energie Kongress 2026 takes place September 16 and 17, 2026, at the congress center in the Hofburg Vienna. Organized by the Oesterreichs Energie Akademie, this is the ninth edition of the congress and coincides with the 25th anniversary of the liberalization of the Austrian electricity market, a theme that runs through much of the 2026 programme.

Audience and Attendees

The congress typically draws around 700 participants along with more than 40 sponsors and exhibitors, and describes itself as the largest event in the Austrian electricity industry. On-site participation is priced at €1,050 for member companies and €1,250 for non-members, with reduced rates for public officials, academics without a company affiliation and apprentices.

Programme Structure

Day one opens with an optional excursion to the Dürnrohr energy hub, followed by check-in and a networking lunch at 11:30am and the formal opening at 1pm, moderated by ORF journalist Mari Lang and Die Presse business editor Jakob Zirm. The day closes with an evening reception at the Palais Niederösterreich hosted by EVN. Day two runs from 9am to roughly 2:30pm on September 17 and closes with an excursion to Zwentendorf.
