About the Event

ORGATEC 2026 is the leading international trade fair for workplace and contract environments, held from 27 to 30 October 2026 at Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany. Organised by Koelnmesse GmbH and held biennially, ORGATEC is the global industry meeting point for everyone shaping the future of work and contract spaces. The 2026 edition marks a significant milestone as the first edition to introduce a central guiding theme: "From Rooms to Relationships: Designing Spaces in an Ever-Changing World." The event brings together leading furniture and interiors brands, technology providers, designers, architects, facilities managers, and workplace strategists from across the world for four days of product showcases, concept installations, expert talks, and professional networking. ORGATEC is co-located with idd cologne, and is complemented by the Wherever Whenever Work Culture Festival presented by the German Interior Business Association (IBA). ORGATEC's global network extends to ORGATEC Tokyo, ORGATEC India, and ORGATEC WORKSPACE Saudi Arabia.

Audience and Attendees

ORGATEC draws a senior international trade audience including workplace designers and architects, interior contractors, corporate real estate and facilities managers, procurement specialists, HR leaders, and workspace strategy consultants. Exhibitors span the full spectrum of workplace and contract interior solutions, from furniture manufacturers and lighting specialists to technology integrators, acoustic solution providers, and surface material producers. The interzum showcase at ORGATEC 2026 brings an additional dimension of furniture component and supply chain innovation to the event. The AIT Innovation Award recognises outstanding product and concept innovations exhibited at the show. With participation from across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East, ORGATEC is the most internationally diverse gathering in the workplace solutions sector.

Programme Structure

The four-day programme combines the main trade exhibition across the Koelnmesse halls with the Wherever Whenever Work Culture Festival, presented by the German Interior Business Association. The festival programme features inspiring keynote talks, panel discussions, workshops, immersive spatial installations, and exhibitions structured across three themes: Empowered Experience, Connected Cultures, and Radical Impact. The ORGATEC worldwide event brings together representatives from the event's global network to discuss shared trends and cross-market insights. A dedicated study published ahead of the 2026 edition examines how workspaces shape relationships in the contemporary working world, providing the intellectual foundation for the central theme's exploration across the fair. The event app supports navigation across halls and scheduling of meetings and sessions throughout the four days.

Main Topics

The 2026 agenda is anchored by the central theme of transitioning from purely functional spaces to human-centred environments that foster genuine connection and organisational resilience. Key themes include the human-to-human experience dimension of workplace design and how spaces can encourage authentic social interaction beyond functional utility; transition competence and the design of durable, resource-efficient, and adaptable workspaces for organisations navigating continuous change; hybrid and flexible work model implications for office layout, furniture, and space programming; the integration of smart technology and digital tools into physical work environments; sustainability and circular design principles in furniture and interiors production; acoustic design and wellbeing as dimensions of productive workspace environments; the contract and hospitality interior market and its convergence with workplace design sensibilities; modular and adaptable furniture systems for agile organisations; biophilic design and the role of nature in high-performance work environments; and the future of the global workplace solutions industry across European, Asian, and Middle Eastern markets.

Closing Session

ORGATEC 2026 concludes on 30 October at Koelnmesse in Cologne, closing four days of international product showcases, conceptual exhibitions, and professional exchange across the workplace and contract interiors community. The 2026 edition marks a new chapter for the event with its inaugural guiding theme, reinforcing ORGATEC's role as both the industry's most important commercial platform and the leading intellectual forum for the future of work environments globally.
