About the Event
Safetronic 2026 runs November 18-19, 2026 in the Stuttgart area, hosted for the sixth time by the Fraunhofer Institute for Cognitive Systems IKS. The conference marks the 25th anniversary of the event, which began in 2001 as a Hanser Verlag event on automotive functional safety. It holistically addresses the safety of road vehicles, covering functional safety, SOTIF, cybersecurity, and safety-in-use.
Audience & Attendees
The conference draws up to 170 safety managers, up from around 50 participants in 2001. Attendee organizations include APTIV, BMW Group, CARIAD SE, Daimler Truck AG, FERNRIDE GmbH, HORIBA MIRA, Mercedes-Benz AG, Mobileye, Nuro Inc., NVIDIA, NXP Semiconductors Germany GmbH, Renault Group, Robert Bosch GmbH, Stellantis N.V., UL Solutions, Valeo Driving Automation, and Yasa Ltd. Participants work mainly in R&D, product development, quality management, software development, and technical sales.
Programme Structure
For its 25th anniversary, the organizers are also offering a free online pre-event ahead of the main conference, giving attendees a chance to explore safety topics from this year's Call for Papers and discuss them with expert speakers and the program committee before the in-person sessions in November.
Main Topics
The programme covers functional safety, Safety of the Intended Functionality (SOTIF), cybersecurity, and safety-in-use for road vehicles and related automotive systems.
Closing Session
The conference runs through its second day, November 19, 2026, in the Stuttgart area.
