It is now a project finance question for utilities and hyperscalers, a design constraint for every data centre engineer, and a compliance requirement for regulators from Brasília to Madrid. At the same time, a fast growing set of open source tools is trying to measure and route around that demand at the software layer, while capital increasingly flows toward climate technology because AI needs power, not because it needs a climate thesis.
