Best of LinkedIn: IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026
Hannover's IAA Transportation 2026 drew more than 1,580 exhibitors from 46 countries. The show confirmed the commercial vehicle transition is no longer about which powertrain wins. Hydrogen coalitions signed real supply commitments, European OEMs answered Chinese entrants with longer-range electric trucks, and autonomous trucks began carrying real freight on German public roads. Deloitte and McKinsey pointed to services, financing and infrastructure, not the vehicle itself, as the real source of future profit. Charging stood out as the most repeated constraint across every powertrain camp. Production-ready hardware is now the easy part, the real competition sits in the financing, charging and service networks around it.
